Takeuchi

Born in 1991. A third-year high school student living in Ishikawa, Japan. Takeuchi started drawing in her current style after watching a documentary about the meat-packing industry on TV. Takeuchi was shocked by the documentary’s contents, and started expressing trauma through artwork with ballpoint pens, color pencils, pens, etc. Takeuchi’s artwork reminds viewers of the food chain diagram. Takeuchi’s messages are not just against eating meat, or the preservation of animal life, but her artwork poses questions more about humanity and their actions. Takeuchi explicitly describes the nature of the world in terms of the laws of nature, reincarnation, life, and the taking of life; more so, she poses simple questions to humanity. Also, Takeuchi fearlessly expresses jealousy, anger, and sorrow in human relationships. “After Crying” is a self-portrait painted after Takeuchi cried, her eyes swollen with tears. This painful picture is deep, vivid, and beautiful. Takeuchi hasn’t shown her works in public yet, except on her website. Takeuchi will exhibit for the first time in GEISAI #11. digmeout introduces this 17-year-old artist to the world with confidence.

竹内

1991年生まれ。石川県金沢市在住。現在、高校三年生。偶然にもテレビでみた、食肉工場のドキュメンタリーに大きく心を動かされ、その衝撃を絵にした事から今の作画スタイルがはじまる。ボールペン、色鉛筆、水性ペンなど、身近な素材を使いながら、理科の教科書にある食物連鎖の図解をも連想させる彼女の絵からは、食肉反対や動物保護のような一元的なプロパガンダを越え、自然界の摂理、輪廻、殺生、命、ひいては人間が生きていくための所業についての素朴な疑問をストレートに問いかけてくる。彼女の絵はまた、人間が生きるための刹那や、人間関係における妬みや怒り、悲しみといったものを真正面からうつしとる。「泣いたあと」という作品は、彼女自身、泣きはらした自分の顔を描いたものだが、その赤く、むくんだ顔を見るたびに、鼻からつんとこみ上げるような傷みを幾度も感じる事が出来、あまりに深く、美しい。恐るべき高校三年生の感性。自身のwebサイト以外の場で作品を公開したことはなく、このGEISAI#11が初の作品展示となる。digmeoutが自信を持って世に問う若きアーティスト、17才の現状報告である。

Dear jurors and art collectors:

“digmeout” is an artists agency in Osaka, Japan. We “dig out” young artists with unknown potential through online submissions and reviews. We provide them many opportunities to show their artwork in public: art books, artistic collaborations with companies, exhibitions overseas, selling artwork, etc. Many worldwide companies, such as NISSAN, SONY, and NIKE support our artistic activities.
Now over 150 artists are officially represented by digmeout, and over 550 artists have registered with “AUDITION EVERYDAY,” our online art review which everybody can join freely.
For GEISAI #11, digmeout has selected 7 artists to display their artwork and give a presentation. Most of them are already known in foreign countries through exhibitions or collaborative projects. We believe that they will be active in the world’s art scene.

GEISAI#11にはるばるおいでになる、親愛なる審査員の皆様、そしてコレクターの皆様へ。

私たちは、大阪を拠点に、未知の才能を持った若いアーティストたちを日々発掘、育成しながら、アートブックの出版、大企業とのアートを通じたコラボレーション、海外での展覧会や作品販売等を行うアートエージェントです。私たちのクライアントには、日産、ソニー、ナイキなど世界的な企業が名を連ね、現在、digmeoutに所属するアーティストは150名以上、また、digmeout.netに作品を登録しているアーティストは550名を越えています。
今回のGEISAI では、私たちdigmeoutに所属している作家の中でも、すでに海外での展覧会や大企業とのアートコラボレーションを通じて、表現者としての評価も高まりつつあり、程なく日本、海外のアートシーンへと踊り出るであろうと、私たちが確信している作家ばかりを選りすぐって作品プレゼンテーションをしたいと考えています。このブログでは各アーティストのプロフィールと代表作品、またGEISAI#11開催１週間前を目処に、展示作品のデータと販売価格をいち早くお知らせする予定です。ぜひこまめにチェックをよろしくお願いします。digmeoutのブースはA-022です。また私たちの活動についてはdigmeout.netのページをご覧ください。当日会場でお会いできる事を楽しみにしています。
